Ongoing Maintenance
A very important part of the maintenance of a functional mooring buoy system is an established maintenance schedule.
Monthly: The buoys and pick up lines need to be cleaned and inspected
3 months: Downlines and anchor systems need to inspected and changed if damaged
6 months: Replace buoy through lines if any signs of wear
12 months: replace pin in down line shackle
24 months: Replace downline if needed
After tropical storms or other natural disaster: Inspect entire system to ensure safety of anchor and mooring buoy system
Standard EMI systems are designed for boats up to 55 feet in normal sea condition (up to six foot seas) for the area in which they are installed, if system is well maintained. Boats have to provide additional scoping line to system. (Please request information for customized systems for heavier loads)
